- There is no buy-ins or long-term commitments. Casa Sandoval features comfortable and charming apartments, a wide range of services and activities, delectable cuisine and an excellent staff to meet your needs at an affordable monthly rental fee.
- How are monthly fees determined?
- Monthly fees vary by each residence's size, location and the availability of the apartment selected.
- At what age may I become a resident?
- Casa Sandoval is open to adults 60 years of age and older.
- What does my monthly rent include?
- Weekly housekeeping and laundry once a week, transportation to the grocery store, medical appointments as scheduled, three daily meals, satellite television and all utilities, with the exception of phone.
- May I furnish and decorate my own apartment?
- Absolutely! Residents furnish their own apartments to fit their lifestyle and reflect their own personal taste. Cherished keepsakes and mementos are all part of making Casa Sandoval your home.
- Are guests welcome at Casa Sandoval?
- This is your home and we certainly welcome you to invite your friends and family to enjoy the many special events provided for our residents. You are welcome to dine with invited guests at any time; reservations are advised and meals are available at a nominal charge. The elegant private dining room is also a wonderful place to host special events, family celebrations and small dinner parties and may be reserved for those special occasions.
- Is there a security system?
- The grounds are well-lit, completely fenced and continuously monitored by our remote control closed circuit television system.
- Do you allow pets?
- Pets are an important part of your family and we understand that. We request that pets must be house-trained and may not exceed a weight limit of 25 pounds together with a nominal deposit fee. However, pets are not permitted on the Assisted Living floor.
- What activities and social programs are offered?
- There are a variety of events and social programs developed by our full time Activities Director. Arts and crafts, social hours, card tournaments, exercise classes and Saturday night at the movies, allow you to be as active and involved as you desire. Professional entertainment, lectures, scenic tours and Tai Chi are just a sampling of the many activities developed for our residents' enjoyment.
- Are there choices available at each meal?
- There are different choices at every meal and our Corporate Chef prepares a versatile menu with delectable entrees for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our menus are prepared by the Corporate Chef based on seasonal availability, rather than being rotated every 4-6 weeks.
- Are there assigned seats in the dining room?
- Although some of our residents choose to sit at a familiar table or with friends at meals, there are no assigned seats in our dining rooms.
- Do you have a guest apartment for my family to stay in when they visit me from out of town?
- Furnished guest apartments may be available at an affordable rate for family and friends.
- Does Casa Sandoval provide transportation?
- Casa provides scheduled van transportation available for personal appointments, shopping and leisure as part of your monthly rental fee. Our Casa bus is used for special day trips and scenic tours scheduled on our activities calendar offering the opportunity to discover local parks, festivals, museums and theater. Also, because Casa is in the heart of Hayward convenient public transportation connects with the nearby Castro Valley and BART stations.
- What about staff?
- Casa is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Out ultimate desire and goal is to provide the best in quality and service for our residents create a warm and pleasant living environment for our community.
- What if my needs change?
- Assisted Care Services are available within the Casa Sandoval community. Those residents that may require help with the activities of daily living (ADL), such as dressing, bathing grooming or medication reminders can receive the care they need while still enjoying the privacy of their own apartment. The cost of these services varies depending upon the resident's need.
- What is the difference between a skilled nursing facility and assisted living at Casa Sandoval?
- Casa Sandoval is a state licensed residential care facility serving the elderly. We provide a non-medical alternative for families when it is no longer practical for senior family members to live by themselves, but do not require 24-hour nursing care. We provide personal care assistance and supervision with the activities of daily living in a warm and caring environment.
