ACTIVITIES
What’s your pleasure? Dancing, arts and crafts, gardening, watching movies, or keeping fit? The Casa Sandoval calendar showcases a variety of events and activities to satisfy your interests and pace of life. Our Activities Department is always on the lookout for new leisure activities and events that encourage residents to learn new skills, develop new hobbies, and make new friends.
Daily Exercise
Staying in physical shape is important for everyone and exercise is a very popular activity at Casa Sandoval. Our daily yoga classes help keep residents agile, flexible, and alert. Recent studies show that many residents have lowered their blood pressure significantly by taking part in our exercise programs.
Current Events
Many of our residents sharpen their minds by keeping up with the news of the day. To satisfy their curiosity about current events, we conduct regular discussions on a number of topics. We also host Casa University on Wednesday mornings, showing residents interesting videos about a number of topics to help them stay alert and maintain critical thinking skills.
Day Trips
We provide our very own Casa Sandoval bus so our residents can enjoy day trips to locations all around the Bay Area. Whether it’s a shopping trip or a museum visit, the chance to get out into the local community is one of the highlights of the week for many of our residents.
Spiritual Enrichment
Faith is a key component of life for many Casa Sandoval residents. We offer ways for our residents to practice their faith with regular bus trips to local churches and synagogues, occasional in-house services from visiting church leaders, and an open atmosphere for individual worship.
Music
One aspect of life that receives great attention at Casa Sandoval is music. If it’s not a performance by Mr. C & the ET, it’s someone tinkling on the piano keys or singing karaoke. Throughout the year, we invite singers, dancers, and other musical entertainers to keep the feet tapping and the energy at a high level. You might also be pleasantly surprised how many of our own residents have musical talent!
